Memorizing these can be very useful for evaluating many GMAT sentences.
16. As .....as
- as........as: used when we are comparing two people or things, or two situations.
Examples
You're as tall as your father
It's not as hard as I thought
Run as fast as you can
17. As to
- as to sth: used when we are referring to something
Examples
As to tax, that will be deducted from your salary.
As to his salary, that too will be reviewed
18. At least as......as
Example
Robot Band is at least as good as Coldplay.
Note
We don't say: Robot Band is as good or better than Coldplay.
Another example
In a recently poll, 86 percent of the public favored a Clear Air Act as strong or stronger than the present act. (INCORRECT!)
>>> In a recently poll, 86 percent of the public favored a Clear Air Act as least as strong as the present act.
19. Attend to
- attend to sb/sth = to deal with sb/sth; to take care of sb/sth
Examples
I have some urgent business to attend to.
A nurse attended to his needs constantly.
20. Attribute A to B
- Attribute sth to sth = to say or believe sth is the result of a particular thing
Example
She attributes her success to hard work and a little luck.
- Attribute (sth) to sb = to say or believe that sb is responsible for doing something, especially for saying, writing or painting sth
Example
This play is usually attributed to Shakespeare.
